A Canadian tourist has been mauled to death by a shark on Mexico's Ixtapa Zihuatanejo beach. 76-year-old Joseph 'Jeff' Bynens, from Canada, was swimming not far from the shore when he was attacked by the shark.

Meanwhile, the terrifying moment of the shark attack was accidentally captured by a man who was filming his wife and little girl on the beach.

Local media reported that the 76-year-old man was pulled from the sea alive, but died as a result of long-term loss from a shark bite on his leg.

Likewise, the 76-year-old's partner was also attacked by the shark, but fortunately managed to survive.
