Four days after being reconfirmed in power with a convincing victory in the early elections in Serbia, Aleksandër Vucic has accused, but without identifying an important country, of having interfered in the election process.
In a statement to the media, he dwelled on the interference of foreign factors in the election process, stressing that the authorities in Belgrade are working to punish the state that tried to influence the vote.
"Our state authorities are preparing an important written statement about the influence of an important country on the elections in Serbia, so far in the most brutal way.
I believe that in ten days until the New Year it will be over and then before the Orthodox Christmas we will be able to instruct the whole world to see how this kind of interference is carried out in the processes that should belong to a sovereign country.
Parliament will be constituted very soon and it is necessary for the largest party in the country to take a decision to partially change itself. There are wonderful people there, but also among those who do not deserve the trust of the people" , said the president of Serbia.
He also rejected the opposition's claims of manipulation of the elections, saying they were the cleanest and fairest ever held in Serbia.
"As much as I respect the 900,000 votes on the one hand that the opposition received, I also respect the 1.8 million votes on the other hand that the Progressive Party received. The will of the voter, the electoral will of the people will be respected".
The largest opposition coalition "Serbia against violence" does not recognize the results of the elections and demands their repetition, claiming that the victory of the Serbian Progressive Party is the result of vote theft.
