The General Assembly of the United Nations has adopted the resolution on the Srebrenica genocide, declaring July 11 the International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Srebrenica Genocide.

The resolution also calls for the unreserved condemnation of any denial of the genocide in Srebrenica, as well as actions that glorify those convicted of war crimes, including those responsible for the genocide.

84 countries voted in favor of the resolution, 19 against, while 68 abstained. This time too, the allies of Serbia and Russia have resigned in the vote against, but what stands out is the vote against Hungary.

In Srebrenica, eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serb forces killed over 8,000 Bosniak men and boys in July 1995.

The crime was recognized as genocide by the International Court of Justice in The Hague in 2007.
