At least five people have died and 50 others have been injured in the northern Mexican city of Nuevo Leon after a stage collapsed during a political rally organized by the Civic Movement Party in Mexico.
The party's presidential candidate, Jorge Alvarez Magínez, said on social media that a strong wind caused the stage to collapse on Wednesday in the town of San Pedro Garza Garcia, an affluent enclave near the industrial center of Monterrey.
Alvarez said he was "fine" after being taken to a local hospital, but his team members were injured. He said that after treatment at the hospital, he was returning to the place of the incident.
