Negotiations between the emissary of the European Union, Miroslav Lajçak, and the Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, have started in Bratislava.
Lajçak, through a post on social networks, says that it has been agreed with Bislim about the first steps that will be taken to de-escalate the situation in the North of Kosovo.
"Intensive bilateral discussions took place today in Bratislava with Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi for the de-escalation of the situation in the north of Kosovo, in accordance with the EU27 statement from June 3, and the way forward in the implementation of all Dialogue Agreements. We agreed on the first steps towards this goal", writes Lajçak.
The European Union demands that the mayors elected in the four municipalities in the North of Kosovo vacate the municipal buildings and work in alternative offices, until new elections are held.
