Plaques with the names of Kosovo ministries were placed on a building in Northern Mitrovica, which had previously been located parallel institutions of Serbia.
In this municipal building, located in the Bosniak Quarter, institutions financed by Serbia had been previously located: Office for Kosovo, Directorate of Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, Administrative District of Mitrovica of Kosovo and Center for Social Work from Vushtrri.
Meanwhile, in the building where until a few days the parallel municipality of Mitrovica was located, a table is placed showing that there is the Department for Drivers License, which functions within the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning.
On August 30, through an action carried out by kosovo police, in four municipalities in northern Kosovo, the premises of five serbian parallel institutions were closed.
The Kosovo Government said that these institutions functioned under serbia's leadership and as such undermined the constitutionality of the country.
The action was criticised by the international community, which called it unilateral and uncoordinated action.
Earlier this year, Kosovo authorities closed seven other serbian municipalities in other parts of Kosovo.
In Kosovo, there are municipalities, public companies and enterprises, nurseries, primary, secondary schools and public universities that are directly funded by the Government of Serbia, and which are located in the towns and settlements where the Serbian community lives.
These institutions under kosovo law are illegal.
In 2013, Kosovo and Serbia in the dialogue on normalization of relations in Brussels reached an agreement on the extinguishment of parallel institutions, but still this agreement has not been fully implemented.
