NASA publishes the VIDEO: This is what causes extreme heat

Human activity is significantly increasing the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, a greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming.

NASA has published some impressive images that show the places where this gas is released the most and how it moves throughout the year. The video shows carbon dioxide emitted in 2021 from different sources: fossil fuels in orange, biomass burned in red, the ocean that absorbs it is shown in blue dots, and land in green dots.

For experts and scientists, this pollution is the main reason that dangerous natural phenomena are happening on our planet, starting from various rainstorms that cause floods at record levels, to scorching heat waves, which are currently stronger and they are taking longer.

The warning is that unless action is taken to curb pollution, weather conditions will become even worse and unaffordable for millions of people around the world.
