While the action of the police has been criticized on social networks, on the other hand, local residents defend the actions of the police, saying that the 49-year-old was being rehabilitated after being a drug user, but had started using again.
But, in the meantime, there is anger in Turkey about the execution of the 49-year-old, and the general consul of Turkey in Karlsruhe went urgently to Mannheim, after the incident.
He received information from the police authorities, visited Ozkani's house and expressed his condolences to his relatives. In his statement to the media, he said: "We will continue to monitor the issue in all its dimensions."
