Turkey has taken a step forward towards approving Sweden's NATO membership after months of discussions and rejections.
This decision will be voted on by the Turkish parliament in the coming days to finally give the green light to the Nordic country.
Turkey's Foreign Affairs Committee approved Sweden's membership in the military alliance, removing one of the final hurdles for Stockholm.
The Turkish parliament is expected to follow this line of thinking when it votes, with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan signaling that he and his ruling AK party along with its allies are in favor.
