The chief negotiator of the Kosovar side, Besnik Bisljimi, traveled to Brussels at the invitation of the high representative of the European Union for foreign policy, Josep Borrell.

Serbian chief negator Petar Petkovic will also be in Brussels. The parties are expected to conduct negotiations for license plates.

Yesterday, the High Representative of the European Union, Josep Borrell, said that Kosovo and Serbia urgently need to find a solution to reduce tensions.

"We cannot reach this date without an agreement or we will be on the edge of a dangerous situation. The withdrawal of Serbs from institutions has created a vacuum, the worst can happen. So both parties should show more flexibility. The message from the Council is clear, we need clear progress. We have presented the proposal, I thank Germany and France for strongly supporting this proposal", he said.

Tensions between Kosovo and Serbia have increased since the Government of Kosovo started on November 1 the implementation of its plan for the re-registration of cars with illegal Serbian license plates.
