Qatar: No casualties in attack on US base

Iran's Supreme National Security Council stated that the missile attack on the US Al Udeid military base in Qatar was carried out far from residential areas and poses no danger to "the people or friendly state of Qatar."

"This activity does not pose any threat to the friendly and brotherly country, Qatar, or to its noble people. The Islamic Republic of Iran remains committed to preserving and strengthening warm and historical relations with Qatar," the official statement said.

"Missile attacks equal to the number of American bombs"

Iran said earlier that the missile attack on Al Udeid air base in Qatar was equal in number to the bombs the US dropped on Iranian nuclear facilities over the weekend, signaling a possible desire for de-escalation, according to reports by the Associated Press.

In a statement issued on Monday evening by Iran's Supreme National Security Council, it was said that the base was chosen as a target because it is located outside residential areas.

Qatari authorities confirmed that there were no injuries in the attack.

Qatar reacted strongly, condemning the attack as a blatant violation of its sovereignty.
