Iran today carried out an attack on the US Al-Unaid air base in Qatar, where numerous American and NATO forces are stationed.
Authorities in Qatar confirmed the attack on the Al-Udeid base, saying it was a "flagrant violation," while the Gulf country has temporarily closed its airspace.
After the Iranian attack with about 10 missiles on Qatar, alarm has been raised in the Gulf countries.
It is reported that American fighter jets stationed at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia have taken to the air.
Meanwhile, the Qatari government says that all Iranian missiles were intercepted and no casualties or damage were reported, while Qatari media reports that air defense systems managed to intercept and destroy 9 out of 10 missiles launched by Iran towards the Al Udeid base.
Qatar raises the possibility of a counterattack on Iran after saying its air defenses have intercepted all Iranian missiles.
Qatar's foreign ministry spokesman Majed Al Ansari also wrote on 'X' that his country is considering the possibility of a counterattack against Iran.
"We affirm that Qatar reserves the right to respond directly in a manner equivalent to the nature and scale of this brazen aggression, in accordance with international law ," Majed Al Ansari said.
No casualties were reported from Tehran's attacks, with the country's Defense Minister expressing confidence that the airspace over Qatar remains safe.
Meanwhile, in Washington, US President Donald Trump and Defense Secretary Pepe Hegseth are in the White House Operations Room, with CNBC reporting that they are closely monitoring the situation in the Middle East.
