The United Arab Emirates has recently closed its airspace, as Iran launched a missile attack on a US military base in Qatar.

Explosions were heard in Doha, Qatar, home to the largest US air base with around 10,000 troops. Footage posted on social media showed Patriot missile defense systems intercepting Iranian missiles.

According to unconfirmed reports on social media, the alert has also been issued at American bases in Bahrain, Kuwait and Iraq.

The US currently has military bases throughout the Middle East, including major installations at Al-Udeid (Qatar), the Naval Support Activity in Bahrain, Camp Arifjan and Camp Buehring (Kuwait), Al-Dhafra (United Arab Emirates), bases in Iraq (Al-Asad), small outposts in Syria (Al-Tanf), and presences in Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and Turkey.
