Iran's 'Evin'

The Israeli military attacked the entrance to Iran's notorious  Evin prison, according to Israel 's defense minister and Iranian state news.

Footage published online shows a giant black cloud covering the prison building.

The video shows " the moment when the entrance gate " of the prison " was targeted ," IRIB news reports.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz confirmed in a statement that Evin had been targeted, along with several other sites, including the main building of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the headquarters of the Basij ( a paramilitary wing of the IRGC ), and the clock counting down to the “ destruction of Israel ” in Tehran’s Palestine Square .

Security forces at Evin detention center are known for their long history of human rights violations.

Political activists , journalists and musicians are among those imprisoned in this center.
