French President Emmanuel Macron has decided to keep his Prime Minister Gabriel Attal in office for now.
" The president has asked Gabriel Attal to remain prime minister for the time being in order to ensure the stability of the country," Macron's office said in a statement.
Mr Attal had previously said he would offer his resignation, adding that he was prepared to stay on longer as caretaker, but that it was up to the president to decide.
We remember that the elections in France surprised quite a bit, with the Left Coalition winning, Macron second and Le Pen third.
However, none of these parties can form the new French government alone.
