Police forces have raided the home of Peru's president, Dina Boluarte, following an investigation into the non-declaration of luxury watches.
It was the journalists in the country who drew attention to the luxury watches that the president wore every time he appeared on various television appearances.
The raid "is for the purpose of search and seizure", the police said about the operation authorized by the judiciary at the request of the general prosecutor's office.
"What has happened constitutes an intolerable insult to the dignity of the presidency ... and the nation it represents. These actions are disproportionate and unconstitutional," Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen told RPP radio and television on Saturday.
Authorities this month launched an investigation into Boluarte after local news paper La Encerrona reported that the president wore various Rolex watches during official events.
