Businessman Sahitaj reacts "alarmed" after the audio recordings: I

In the second part of the audio recordings in the possession of journalist Milaim Zeka, which were made public this Saturday on his official YouTube channel "Me Milaim Zeka", businessman Halit Sahitaj rejects claims that he sought to withdraw the statement given in October 2020 to the Specialist Prosecutor's Office.

During the conversation with the main prosecutor in the case of Hashim Thaci, Tieger, Sahitaj clarified that his statement was given with full will and that any misunderstanding may have come from communication with Chriss Bennett.

"It is a misunderstanding here, at no point have I said that I want to withdraw the statement I have given", declared Sahitaj, adding that "I gave that statement with full will. But there are some other parallel clarifications."

Following the testimony, Sahitaj announced that he also tried to contact the American embassy in Madrid, just a few days after the conversation with Bennett, to request a meeting with a senior American representative.

"I gave my reason for a meeting in Madrid with an American superior, for an explanation regarding a concern that I have for two to three weeks, and for me it is very important," he said.

This part of the testimony raises serious questions about the nature of this "concern" of the witness, as well as the reason for the involvement of American diplomacy in this matter. The role of witnesses and the credibility of their statements remains one of the key issues in the processes related to the Specialist Chambers in The Hague.

All the audio recordings, which are a series of 18 episodes, Zeka has warned that they will be published on the YouTube channel "with Milaim Zeka".
