The White House has appeared in a press conference regarding the downing of four suspicious flying objects over the United States of America, for which the possibility of extraterrestrials was not excluded earlier.

Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, accompanied by national security adviser John Kirby, dismissed earlier claims that the downed objects could be alien.

With a smile on her face, Jean-Pierre added that like everyone else she loved the movie ET and assured the American people that there is no evidence of life from other planets.

Meanwhile, John Kirby added that China has a military-related balloon program that was only discovered by the Biden administration.

He also stated that the US and Canada have increased controls in the airspace of the two countries.

US officials are still trying to pinpoint two other objects downed by F-22 fighter jets and were working to determine whether China was responsible, as concerns escalated over what Washington said was an ever-expanding program of the Beijing Air Observatory.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, a Democrat, told ABC's "This Week" program that US officials were working quickly to collect debris from the facilities after the crash.

"Until a few months ago, we didn't know anything about these balloons," said Mr. Schumer, about the espionage program that the US administration has linked to China's military. "It's extraordinary that we didn't know anything."

China's Foreign Ministry has described the first unmanned balloon as a civilian meteorological aircraft that had gone off course. Beijing said the US decision to topple him was an "overreaction".

The cases have heightened diplomatic tensions between the United States and China, raised questions about the extent of Beijing's surveillance of the US and prompted criticism from Republican lawmakers of the Biden administration's response.
