In the first meeting as Minister of the Interior with the leaders of the state police, Balla did not spare the criticism of the Police Supervision Agency headed by Ardi Veliu.
Minister Balla's question to Ardi Veli: My question, so long after the creation of the Agency as a derivative of the former SHKB, how many leaders or chiefs of police stations of the State Police have been caught with leeks in their hands ?
It seems that the new minister will not wait for the answer to this question from Ardi Veliu, but will give it himself by dismissing him from his position as director of the Police Supervision Agency.
Ardi Veliu, unlike his predecessors, will be long remembered for the "scandals", during the time when he was the general director of the state police and recently as the head of the Police Supervision Agency.
VoxNews highlights some of the scandals involving the 'chief constable' who later became their 'supervisor'.
A few days ago SPAK confirmed the arrest of the former driver of AMP Director Ardi Veliu, Sokol Idrizi, his wife and daughter.
The former driver of Ardi Veliut, Sokol Idrizaj, along with other people in Albania, are being investigated by SPAK, after strong suspicions that they have been involved in the trafficking of valuables such as gold, watches and various jewels that are thought to be they came with bags from the territory of France.
Some of Ardi Veliu's scandals as General Director of Police:
1. What made the most noise was the chief police officer's justification for the violence against a 15-year-old boy, years at a time when the country was under curfew.
2. On May 29, police chief Ardi Veliu in a live link from his office at the Security Commission, when asked about the violence that the officers had used against the minor, Veliu brought out a video of his mother, who appeared with a gun in hand.
3 . The opposition protests, which culminated in recent years, gave a nickname to the former Minister of the Interior, Sandër Lleshaj. The latter received the nickname "Sandër Kimiku" from former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, but Veliu did not escape either.
4. December 8, 2020, Klodian Rasha was shot to death by the Police officer, Nevaldo Hajdaraj, who is now behind bars. The killing of the young man by the Police brought a revolt of the citizens against the State Police, making the situation very tense in the country for several days. The protesters demanded the dismissal of Ardi Veli, but received a negative response from Prime Minister Rama himself. Minister Lleshaj was "sacrificed" in his place, who took responsibility and apologized for the incident.
5. Klement Balili was one of the most wanted persons in Albania. The LSI official was known as the "Escobar of the Balkans" in the media of the neighboring country. Balili, who was wanted on account of Greek and Albanian justice, suspected of being the person who led a criminal group of drug trafficking in the Balkans towards Europe, decided to surrender after being declared an international wanted man. Unable to arrest him, Veliu appeared as his driver, after accompanying him from Delvina to Tirana, in a luxury car.

The chief police officer who ate the heads of 3 ministers:
October 27, 2018 Fatmir Xhafa resigned as the Minister of the Interior.
The news was given by Prime Minister Edi Rama through a post on social networks announcing that he has accepted Xhafaj's resignation, thanking him for his contribution at the head of the country's most important department.
December 10, 2020 Prime Minister Edi Rama wrote that after the tragic event where 25-year-old Klodian Rasha was killed by a police officer, Minister Sandër Lleshaj has submitted his resignation.
He told the minister that he should wait until Rama returned from the USA, while adding that Lleshaj has no responsibility for that serious act of the police.
July 8, 2023 Bledi Çuçi was dismissed by Prime Minister Rama after the serious event that happened in Thumanë, and the appearance on the scene of the connections of the Kruja police with the Rraja family, which macabrely raped Jashar and Bilbil Maja. Rama announced the dismissal of Çuç and the appointment of Taulant Balla in his place.
The man who was supposed to guard the policemen of Kruja, and take measures by punishing them for illegal actions, Ardi Vliu chose to protect by closing an eye.
It is not known what his next post will be, but sources told VoxNews that Balla will reform the police dome and the turn will start from Ardi Veliu.
