How prosecutor Klodian Braho delayed the request for Ahmetaj's arrest

SPAK's request for the removal of immunity and the arrest of Arben Ahmetaj has been publicly welcomed. Analysts and lawyers have interpreted it as a logical and expected consequence after the formalization of the charges against the former deputy minister in mid-March.

However, the request is considered delayed and the culprit for these delays is the special prosecutor, Klodian Braho, who was the first to receive the Elbasan incinerator file. The prosecutor is accused of dragging out the investigations for months, did not include in the file the evidence implicating Arben Ahmetaj and tried to leave him completely out of these investigations.

With statements repeatedly repeating that the case was under investigation, prosecutor Klodian Braho neither affirmed nor denied at any time clearly whether Arben Ahmetaj was being investigated or not. The double declarations, with the division of the file into factions and other procedural actions, which more than the procedure served to confuse the public, Klodian Braho allegedly tried to exonerate Arben Ahmetaj.

This effort of his is proven by the fact that in the Elbasan incinerator file he included almost all the documents obtained from the seizure of Klodian Zoto's computers, with the exception of the hotel bills that Klodian Zoto had paid for Arben Ahmetaj.

It took two denunciations by the journalist Adriatik Doçi in December of last year to destroy all efforts to get Arben Ahmetaj out of the incinerators case unscathed. First, Doçi submitted the request that the hotel invoices be included in the file and secondly, he accused prosecutor Klodian Braho of abuse of office.

In the light of these evidences, Klodian Braho was forced to quietly withdraw from the file 277 fraction 1, which Altin Dumani, newly elected head of the special prosecution at the time, took over himself.

What Braho did not do in two years, Altin Dumani did in two months. He formalized the accusations against Ahmetaj, carried out checks in the villas of people close to him, which until the file was investigated by Braho was unimaginable and has already sent to the Parliament the request for the arrest of Ahmetaj.

All these actions could have been carried out two years ago, if the special prosecutor, Klodian Braho, would impartially and objectively investigate this file.
