Ahmetaj again in SPAK/ The new complaint, from the villa to the abuse of
Arben Ahmetaj

Another lawsuit has been submitted to SPAK against the former Minister of Finance, Arben Ahmetaj. The lawsuit is based on the evidence published by Inside Story, among which the 1 million euro villa in Hamallaj, but also previous sensational files where Arben Ahmetaj was talked about.

The lawsuit was filed by journalist Adriatik Doçi. In it, the criminal prosecution of Arben Ahmetaj is requested for corruption, laundering the proceeds of the criminal offense and hiding assets. Besides Ahmetaj, Eriola Hoxhaj, the current partner of the ex-minister and his ex-wife, Albina Mançka, are also indicted, both under the charge of laundering the proceeds of the criminal offense.

The evidence listed in the report starts with the incinerator of Elbasan and the signature given by Arben Ahmetaj as the Minister of Economic Development and Entrepreneurship on November 14, 2014, where the agreement for the concession is expressed. The letter with protocol number 7975 fraction 1 refutes the former minister's alibi that he did not sign any signature for this concession.

In addition, evidence is also mentioned that implicates the minister Arben Ahmetaj and his family members who have received payments from Klodian Zoto repeatedly from 2013 to 2021.

The report further mentions the villa in Lalëz Bay, commissioned by Klodian Zoto, but since March of last year it has ended up in the ownership of Eriola Hoxhajt, the current partner of Arben Ahmetaj. According to the report, Hoxha does not justify the purchase of this villa with income secured over the years, so it is suspected that the transaction from Zoto to Eriola Hoxha is fictitious and that the real beneficiary of the villa is Arben Ahmetaj.

SPAK has also been handed over the evidence related to the company Hermes and the fraud of 22 million dollars with impulses of Albtelekom in the early 2000s. Ahmetaj's company signed a contract for the purchase of impulses at a price of 0.5 lek per impulse, or 8 times more lower than what was decided by the Supervisory Council of Albtelekom. Even in this case, a judicial process was developed, which ended in 2016 with the dismissal of the case.

The report also includes accusations related to concealment of wealth and non-declaration of income from 2008 to 2013, lobbying to give the Skavica hydropower plant to two Turkish companies, and the abuse of reconstruction funds./TopNews
