Erion Velija's not unexpected appeal to the Constitutional Court is his exclusive right. No one better than him can take responsibility for himself.

He has chosen to defend himself, even at the political cost that comes naturally in relations with his party. He chose not to be part of the political solution that his party has proposed, but has chosen to defend himself.

Completely normal.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm interested in Veliaj's complaint for the sake of the principle of the rule of law and the Constitution. But this "interest" of mine has nothing to do with the political debate that takes place in these cases, because I have no political interest.

Now, Erion Velia's personal choice does not at all justify the DP not yet having a candidate for the Mayor of Tirana.

There have been 40 or so protests against Veliaj, much more than against Rama, and there was no candidate?!

Then why did he protest?!

This blunder essentially turns the protest into a farce.

An opposition should rejoice when there are early elections and not when they are postponed because it is not ready.

What kind of logic is this?! When you're not ready for elections, what's the point of being in politics?!

Every opposition in the world has names ready for every situation. (Even Pilinç has a shadow government...)

No opposition in the world wastes political time with procedures, legal deadlines, lawsuits, reports and complaints. Much less with ODIHR reports, which politically don't even make a damn thing of any use.

Veliaj's complaint does not at all justify the DP's fatal inability to participate in the elections.
