Fire on Krasta Hill near high voltage lines in Elbasan

A massive fire has engulfed the pine forest area on Krasta hill in Elbasan.

The area where the fire spread is located near 110 kV, 150 kV, 220 kV and 400 kV high-voltage lines as well as relevant substations that include important equipment and systems for the transmission of electricity in the country.

Thanks to the intervention of firefighting forces with special equipment, the flames were isolated and extinguished in record time, thus avoiding any damage to substations or transmission lines and to people.

Authorities are investigating further to uncover the exact causes of the incident and to assess the necessary preventive measures in the future.
