Requested release from prison, Fier Court postpones hearing for former DP MP Ervin Salianji

After the end of the session, the lawyer of former Democratic MP Ervin Salianji, Ledio Braho, in a statement to the media, claimed that the session was postponed for several days because the Fier Penitentiary Institution had not sent the evaluation report.

"I believe there will be two sessions until a decision is made," Braho said, and he asserted that he has the right to gain freedom, even though we cannot make predictions about judicial processes in Albania," he said.

Salianji was found guilty by a final decision of false reporting by the Court of Appeals for the 'Babale' case, sentencing him to 1 year in prison.

He described the trial as a set-up and called himself a political prisoner. In March, the Supreme Court rejected his appeal against the 1-year prison sentence.
