A large-scale fire has been burning in the hills east of the city of Himara, near the village of Pilur, for more than 15 hours.
The fire, aided by the wind, has progressed, burning bushes and trees in the area, but also climbing higher up the mountain.
Since yesterday afternoon and continuing, around 15 Himara fire brigade forces, police officers from the Himara police station and municipality, as well as civil emergencies, are fighting to extinguish the fire.
However, the difficult terrain made intervention from the hilly area impossible, and the helicopter was notified of this situation, and it began its intervention this morning.
What remains most worrisome is the smoke that spreads in the air and this is a concern for vacationers. Firefighters say that the most worrisome is the humus, which is reactivated when the wind blows, so workers are keeping it under control.
