
Saranda Police has finalized another operation to crack down on illegal activities in the field of narcotics.
In neighborhood no. 2 of the coastal city, two apartments were found to have premises adapted for the cultivation of narcotic plants using electric lamps, as well as for their drying and processing, with the aim of selling. The verifications showed that the equipment was supplied with illegal electricity connections.
The police arrested the building's administrator, a 45-year-old citizen, for the criminal offenses of "Production and sale of narcotics", "Cultivation of narcotic plants" and "Theft of electricity or telephone impulses".
Meanwhile, four other people were declared wanted and the wife of the building administrator was criminally prosecuted.
In the apartments, 157 suspected narcotic plants of the Cannabis Sativa type, cultivated in pots, 18 kg of the narcotic substance cannabis, in a dry state, 90 electric lamps with reflectors, 100 electric fuses, 5 air conditioners, 15 fans, 4 air filters, aspiration tubes, 3 mobile phones and other equipment used for criminal activity were seized.
