SCANDAL/ Kurum's toxic waste swirls in the sea, the ship is not allowed to

The Turkish-flagged ship that brought the 102 containers suspected of "hazardous waste" to the shores of Durrës is still at the dock and no part of the cargo has been unloaded to be seized according to the decision of the Prosecutor's Office.

"Moliva" has brought the suspected cargo with dangerous substances that was headed for Thailand but turned back, after an alarm given by international organizations.

However, since the morning of Monday, October 28, the ship with the Turkish flag is in the harbor of the Port of Durrës and has not docked to unload the cargo of 102 containers, newsbomb writes .

Chief prosecutor Suela Beluli and her colleague Mediana Meta ordered the seizure.

When more than 48 hours have passed and we are on the third day of the arrival of the "Moliva" ship on the shores in front of Durrës, the containers have not been unloaded and the order is not being implemented by the responsible authorities, such as the Durrës Port Authority, the Police Directorate, etc.

"Measures should be taken for the seized items to be deposited in a safe place in terms of environmental and physical security, through 24-hour camera monitoring. The seized items should be kept in their condition without proceeding with their opening", the letter says.

But until now, no measures have been taken against the ship with the Turkish flag, either for the unloading of the cargo or for the seizure of 102 containers in accordance with the decision of the prosecution body.

Under these conditions, there is a risk of the disappearance of evidence, the departure of "Molivas" or its suffocation.

Chief Prosecutor Suela Beluli has also asked the leaders of the eight respective institutions to sign the record of the seizure of 102 containers suspected of containing hazardous waste, as well as to describe in detail the actions and items seized.
