How Iran was hit by the "Midnight Hammer"

Washington has revealed details of the powerful military operation against Iran, one of the largest air missions in recent years, codenamed "Midnight Hammer", which took place on Saturday evening, June 21, and focused on three key targets of the Iranian nuclear program: Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan.

At a Pentagon press conference, US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Dan Caine confirmed that more than 125 aircraft participated in the surprise attack, including seven B-2 Spirit bombers, supply tankers, reconnaissance aircraft and air defense forces.

The general revealed that the B-2 bombers dropped more than 12 Massive Ordnance Penetrator bombs, designed to destroy deep underground targets. The attack on Iranian nuclear targets began at 6:40 p.m. ET (local US time) and the planes were out of Iranian airspace by 7 p.m., making the operation extremely fast and precise.

Tomahawk missiles were also used, hitting specific targets in the city of Isfahan, part of a coordinated, high-precision campaign.

The operation also included a tactical deception maneuver.

According to General Caine, part of the fleet flew to the Pacific to divert attention and maintain surprise.

This strategy was known only to a very limited number of military planners in Washington and Tampa.

This is the longest B-2 mission since September 11, 2001, Caine said, calling the operation an "extraordinary logistical and tactical achievement."

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, from the same podium at the Pentagon, said that with this operation, "Iran's nuclear ambitions have been destroyed."

He praised President Trump's leadership as "visionary and courageous" and said the US has acted with "focused and measured force."

The operation comes after an escalation of tensions between Iran, the US and Israel, plunging the region into an uncertain situation that is now being closely watched by world powers.

This is one of the most sophisticated military operations conducted by the US in recent decades, which in addition to extraordinary military force, also demonstrated the intelligent use of psychological strategies and advanced technology in the field of modern warfare.

The US military operation against Iran, codenamed "Midnight Hammer", involved over 125 fighter jets, marking it as one of the largest air missions in recent years.

The details were revealed by General Dan Caine, the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, at a press conference at the Pentagon.

According to Caine, the operation involved seven B-2 Spirit stealth bombers, which took off from an air base in Missouri and traveled on one of the longest missions since the September 11, 2001 attacks.

The bombers dropped over a dozen Massive Ordnance Penetrator bombs weighing about 13 tons each on two Iranian nuclear facilities, Fordow and Natanz.

Part of the operation were also dozens of Tomahawk missiles, which hit targets in the city of Isfahan, another important nuclear center in Iran.

General Caine also explained that the operation involved a tactical deception. Some of the bombers flew into the Pacific as decoys to avoid Iranian attention. According to him, the strikes began at 6:40 p.m. (US local time) and ended within 20 minutes, with the planes leaving Iranian airspace at 7:00 p.m. without receiving any strikes from Iran.
