Two young men in Pogradec managed to save a 30-year-old man who, under the influence of narcotics, attempted to jump out of a sixth-floor apartment window.
The incident occurred in neighborhood No. 4 of the city, where the elderly mother was trying to stop her son from committing the serious act.
The dramatic scene was spotted by two young men returning from the mosque, who quickly ran towards the scene.
They are Ernest and Eric, who tell how the event happened.
"It was around 2 o'clock, before we were at the scene, we were at the mosque. We headed home, and on the way we saw people screaming. We saw a young man trying to commit suicide, he had climbed into the air conditioner motor.
In the first moments we were talking to him, telling him that he shouldn't do it, since he's still young. About four minutes later, two police officers who had been notified by other people arrived. And the police officers started talking to him with kind words so that he wouldn't end his life. They tried to keep him with kind words for a few minutes, but when they saw that the young man wasn't acting, a police officer tried to go up, but when he came back empty-handed. The police officer went up again, and he came back empty-handed ," young Ernest Dulellari confessed.
Immediately afterwards, the two young men climbed up themselves to help the young man's mother.
"When I went inside, I saw that the person was elbowing his mother in the face and she let go for a moment. The moment my mother let go, I jumped towards him, put my hand on his shirt and pulled him inside. Meanwhile, I was screaming for help, as he kept trying to go to the window and jump."
Erik, who is only 17 years old, says that the person who attempted to jump from the height was screaming and claiming that he felt unwanted in society and family.
"The person was saying 'I'm tired of people's words, they're making fun of me.' So he was being bullied ," said Erik Oshafi.
Faith in God, said the two young people from Pogradec, led them to save a life.
