NAMES/ Megaoperation "Sky ECC" in Greece, 24 arrested, among them 14 Albanians!

The Greek police have uncovered the operation initiated by the disclosure of communications on the " Sky ECC " and " Encrochat " platforms conducted yesterday.

In the operation, which also involved the Greek special forces EKAM, 24 people were arrested while 7 others were declared wanted.

The investigative file includes 15 Albanian citizens (one deceased), several Greek citizens and citizens from Russia, Moldova, Georgia and China, who were part of 4 criminal groups.

The criminal groups were involved in trafficking and distributing marijuana and cocaine and money laundering, while they are also accused of illegal possession of weapons.

A narcotics cultivation laboratory was also discovered during the operation. According to the police, these groups trafficked drugs from Albania and Spain, mainly through vehicles transporting legal materials, distributed drugs in Greece, and transported or laundered money earned from illegal activities.

During the investigations, 106 episodes related to the trafficking and distribution of narcotics, totaling 1 ton 784 kg of marijuana and 43 kg 700 grams of cocaine, or the transportation and laundering of money, as well as the attempted murder of citizen Ari Papa, which occurred on February 26, 2021 in Greece, were discovered.

It is estimated that around 8 million 455 thousand euros have been circulated from drug trafficking and distribution.

During the checks carried out yesterday as part of the operation, around 9.5 kg of marijuana (part of the SKUNK variety), 1,450 cannabis sativa narcotic plants, around 1.3 kg of cocaine, 4 pistols, 1 pair, 463 cartridges, 1 silencer, 1 gun barrel, 6 combs, 16 knives, 2 batons, 1 punch amplifier, 1 metal baton, 17 explosives, 6 scales, 1 drug grinder, robbery materials, 1 expensive watch, 49 mobile phones, 4 laptops, 3 tablets, 1 fake ID card, 1 banknote counter, 1 hard disk, over 30 vehicles, 7 motorcycles, 475,300 euros, 7,400 Albanian lek, 160 Australian dollars, 2 Ghanaian cents, 140 Polish zlotys, 160 dirhams United Arab Emirates, 1 gold lira.

The suspects lived mainly in luxury apartments and traveled in expensive vehicles, with income mainly from illegal activities.

According to the Greek police, one criminal group was led by Albanians Denis Grabocka and Andon Salati, another was led by Aleksandër Sadikaj (killed in Albania in 2022), another by Aleksandro Pando, and the fourth group by Greek Dhionisio Siountri.

It consisted of 2 Greek citizens and 3 unidentified people.

Eglantina Pando, 57, as well as a Greek and a Chinese woman, have also been arrested on charges of money laundering, while a user of the "Encrochat" application who carried out money transfers using the "Hawala" system is unidentified.

During the checks as part of the operation, Marjus Pashaj, 28 years old from Delvina, and a Greek citizen were also arrested in flagrante delicto for other criminal offenses.
