At today's meeting of the Council of Ministers, a decision was made to ensure the lives of the personnel of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, who are sent on military missions and training abroad.

According to the government's decision, the life insurance package is valid until 2026, where all medical expenses will be covered, at home or abroad, in public or private hospitals, in the event that military personnel are injured in the line of duty.

The package also includes compensation for the soldier's family, in case the latter dies in the line of duty or disappears.

The amount specified in the insurance contract, for each insured person, is not lower than:

-10,000,000 (ten million) ALL, for cases of loss of life due to duty or disappearance of the person;

- 12,000,000 (twelve million) ALL, for cases of health damage resulting in permanent disability;

- 5,000,000 (five million) ALL, for cases of loss of life, as a result of accidents during the exercise of duty;

- 50,000 (fifty thousand) ALL, for cases of health damage, resulting in temporary disability.

The financial effects, resulting from the implementation of this decision, will be borne by the budget of the Ministry of Defense.
