In the last meeting of the Council of Ministers, the government approves the payments for the additional hours of the police officers and their financial food compensation.

In the approved Act, it is envisaged to cover the financial effect of additional hours of police officers engaged in the service during the tourist season.

Also, with these additions to the Normative Act, the financial effect of compensation in lek for food will be covered for police officers for the entire budget year 2024.

In a statement after the government meeting, the Minister of Finance Petrit Malaj said that the funding for the Ministry of the Interior has been increased to the value of about 1.3 billion lek for the food compensation of the Police, in addition to the additional working hours that will benefit them during the season touristic.

The realization of this promise for police officers follows that of salary increases and life insurance, as well as helping to improve their performance.
