The heads of the economic crime sector in the local police directorates have been suspended from their duties by order of the general director of the police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku.
This decision came during a meeting with the Minister of the Interior Bledi Çuçi and the 12 district directors.
According to Rrumbullak, the suspension of the chiefs of economic crime was due to the lack of efficiency of these structures and the failure to meet expectations, in the fight against fiscal evasion, illegalities in the economic field, or in the fight against corruption.
The suspension of police officers will be for a period of two weeks until the creation of the new police structure.
During the meeting, in addition to announcing the order of Chief Police Rrumbullak, the Minister of the Interior also spoke about the issue of the cultivation of narcotics and the preparations for the May 14 local elections.
According to sources, the Home Minister gave strict orders to every local leader for an uncompromising fight against cannabis cultivation.
Regarding the conduct of the elections of May 14, Bledi Çuçi requested the commitment of the intelligent structures and those of the Order for the smooth running of the electoral campaign and the entire electoral process of May 14, preventing and attacking any attempt to buy and sell votes.
Çuçi demanded the crackdown on electoral crimes, as well as the avoidance by the police of any kind of intimidation by political subjects or persons related to them./OraNews
