Lawyers for former Prime Minister Sali Berisha have not yet submitted the request for the exclusion of Judge Irena Gjoka, apparently in an attempt to exploit any time limit set by the regulation.
Earlier, it was confirmed that the request would be submitted today, but by 16:00, such a thing did not happen, as the GJKKO confirms.
"In the wake of the interest shown by the journalists, we inform you that until 16:00, the court secretary did not submit a written request of the lawyer of the citizen Sali Berisha for the exclusion of judge Irena Gjoka" the court notice said.
The next session on the toughness of the move against Berisha is set to be held tomorrow at 12:00. SPAK has called for the change of the measure from "parcation obligation" to "house arrest" for the former prime minister.
But lawyers have called for the exclusion of Judge Irena Gjoka, claiming there is conflict after being dismissed by Berisha in 1996.
According to documents made public, it turned out that Berisha had appointed Gjoka again after 6 months.
