The Dutch police in the municipality of Kortenberg have conducted a chase like in the movies against three Albanian citizens, meanwhile two Albanians have been arrested as suspects for committing several thefts.

After a long chase by the police, they crashed the car in the yard of a residence and ran away.

Police launched a ground pursuit and a federal forces helicopter was used to track down the thieves.

Two of them were able to be arrested by Belgian police forces, while a third person managed to escape.

“When our team wanted to stop the suspects, they left in their car. After a long chase, they crashed their vehicle on Kortenbergsesteenweg, near Blockmanstraat. They then left on foot. We mounted a large-scale search operation and received support from the federal police helicopter. In the end we managed to arrest two of them, while the third is still on the run", said Filip Van Steenbergen , police chief of the KASTZE police area (Kampenhout, Steenokkerzeel and Zemst).

"The suspects come from Albania. In their car, with Dutch license plates, we found stolen items", added the police chief.
