
A police officer has been arrested by the Police Supervision Agency in Durres on charges of corruption.
According to AMP, his arrest came after the police demanded an amount of 60 thousand new lek to remove his vehicle from the blocking point and not impose an administrative measure on him.
AMP has also published footage from the operation, carried out in collaboration with SPAK, as well as the money that was placed inside an envelope.
The agency says that investigative actions are continuing in cooperation with SPAK for the possible involvement of other persons in this criminal activity.

The Police Supervision Agency (Durres - Kavaja Region) in cooperation with the Special Prosecution Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime has arrested in flagrante delicto the police officer GH, assigned to the Urban and Interurban Traffic Service Corps at the Durres Police Department, suspected of committing the criminal offense "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions" provided for in Article 259 of the Criminal Code.
The arrest in flagrante delicto was carried out after actions using special investigative methods, where it was proven that the police officer, by using his official function in violation of the law, demanded and received from citizen ES an amount of 60,000 new lek (seized as material evidence), promising in exchange that he would remove the vehicle from the blocking point, as well as not imposing an administrative measure.
Investigative actions continue in cooperation with SPAK for the possible involvement of other persons in this criminal activity.
