For more than 24 hours, a video has gone viral online, showing a lion biting a man on the head who tried to pet it.

It took the lion's owner's quick intervention, who slapped it, causing the animal to retreat and the man to fortunately escape without serious injuries.

The lion was on the steps of a balcony of a villa and from the conversation, it was understood that the incident had occurred in the south of the country, without knowing the exact location.

Media reports that the lion that went viral is located in the village of Zharrëz in Fier, where a family keeps it in their apartment as a "house cat".

All the residents of the area knew this fact, but no one had reported it to the authorities.

It is learned that the Fier police are cooperating with the authorities to remove the animal from the residential environment, but also to punish those responsible according to the law.

However, there has been no announcement so far.

Keeping a wild and dangerous animal like a lion indoors is not only irresponsible, but it poses a direct threat to public safety.
