The State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi, revealed that the elections in the Municipality of Tirana will be held 30 days after the Constitutional Court's decision.
" What will happen if the Constitutional Court makes a decision or another decision, I would prefer not to do it because I would be in the position of a commentator. In my capacity, I think it is worth saying how long we will continue. The Constitutional Court has set the date of the 31st to decide on this issue, which could be the final decision, in any version, whether it is the CEC, the Council of Ministers or the President, they will not see if there will be room in each of these institutions to make decisions.
I would prefer not to talk about what the institutions should do. It is not a matter of days, since the constitutional court could review it even these days or even after October 31, from the point of view of what it can produce from a legal point of view is not related to the date itself.
The process of preparing for elections is a process that requires a certain period of time, in the case of partial elections it is clearly defined that they will not be held closer than 30 days from the moment the vacancy is created, and no more than 45 days after the announcement of the vacancy. The elections will be held 30 days later from the moment of the vacancy", said Celibashi.
