A 21-year-old Albanian man has been placed under investigation by the Rimini Prosecutor's Office on charges of sexual violence, following a complaint from an 18-year-old German tourist, who was on vacation on the Italian coast during the first weekend of July.

According to Italian media, the girl was on the Riviera with two of her friends, all three of German origin and the same age.

She had known the 21-year-old, who has been living in Italy for years but is of Albanian origin, and together they had arranged to meet at a disco in Rimini on Sunday evening, July 5, the media wrote .

According to the girl's testimony, after spending several hours together at the bar, the four young men moved to the beach, after consuming a significant amount of alcoholic beverages.

There, according to the version presented by the 18-year-old to the police, she and the 21-year-old had left the group and then he allegedly forced her to have sexual intercourse against her will.

The girl stated that she had tried to resist, but according to her, the young man had physically overpowered her and taken advantage of her drunken state. The day after the incident, she went to the Rimini police station and filed a report.

The young man, defended by lawyer Massimiliano Orrù, has denied all the accusations and claims that there were only kisses between them and that any intimacy was voluntary on both sides.

"My client is convinced of his innocence and, to show his calmness, has without any hesitation submitted his underwear to the authorities for the relevant analysis," his lawyer stated.

Due to the complexity of the case, the Rimini Prosecutor's Office has asked the judge to conduct a trial incident, with the aim of reconstructing the dynamics of the evening and clarifying the circumstances of the event.

This is the second reported case of sexual violence in the Rimini area in a few days. Earlier, another investigation was made public, where a 23-year-old woman reported being raped during the weekend of the famous "Notte Rosa" event on the Italian coast.

Investigations into both cases continue, as authorities are collecting evidence and testimony to determine the exact dynamics of the events.
