World-famous Albanian singer, Dua Lipa, has expressed strong criticism of the Albanian government.

During the latest episode of her podcast, "Service95 Book Club", where the renowned Albanian writer, Lea Ypi, was invited, Dua Lipa expressed her concern about governance, focusing specifically on decisions taken without transparency with the public.

Discussing current developments in the country, the singer focused on amending Law 21/2024 on construction in protected areas.

According to Lipa, these legal changes endanger the country's natural resources, specifically mentioning the negative impact that these policies could have on the Vjosa-Narta lagoon and the possible consequences of luxury construction projects in the Zvërnec area.

"We cannot talk about the history of Albania without talking about Albania today. I find it disturbing that the government would change the law on protected areas without a public consultation," says Dua.
