A Vlora Police operation has uncovered a case of drug distribution in the city's tourist areas.

Five people, including two Italian citizens, have been arrested in flagrante delicto, while around 700 doses of various types of drugs have been seized, which were suspected to have been intended for sale on beaches and bars during the tourist season.

Police Announcement:

The police operation codenamed "WEST" is being finalized to crack down on the distribution of narcotics.

5 citizens are arrested in flagrante delicto, 2 of whom are Italian citizens.

700 doses of narcotics of the types "Tusi", "Ketamine", "MDMA", "Cocaine", "Ecstasy" and "Cannabis" are seized.

As a result of the immediate administration of information obtained in operational channels, regarding several citizens who were transporting various narcotics for the purpose of selling them in the city of Vlora, the services of the Narcotics Investigation Section at the Vlora Police Department, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, with the support of the operational services of the Vlora Police Department, successfully finalized the police operation codenamed "WEST".

As part of this operation, citizens NK, 20 years old, resident of Lezha; RH, 20 years old, resident of Lezha; MM, 23 years old, resident of Lezha; CL, 42 years old, resident of Rome, Italy, and CS, 37 years old, resident of Palermo, Italy, were arrested in flagrante delicto.

These citizens were found in the Zvërnec area and, during a physical search of them, the vehicle they were using, and the apartment where they were staying, in the "Uji i Ftohtë" neighborhood, Vlora, the Police services found and seized, as material evidence, 700 doses of various types of narcotics, ready for sale, a sum of money suspected of having been obtained from criminal activity, as well as 8 mobile phones.

Preliminary investigations suspect that these citizens were selling narcotics on beaches and bars.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecution Office for further action, for the criminal offense of "Production and sale of narcotics", committed in collaboration.
