"We saved Albania's image" - Minister Ismaili reveals who made the decision to give 4 million euros for Kanye West's concert

Minister of Parliamentary Relations, Erjona Ismaili, has stated that the 4 million euro fund allocated by the government for the organization of Kanye West's concert was a necessary decision.

According to the minister, this decision was taken to protect Albania's image and avoid even greater economic consequences.

Further, Ismaili stated that it was the Prime Minister himself who announced that the decision was made "in extremis", after the increasing risk of canceling the concert.

" This is a concert that sets Albania on another standard in the international arena. It is true that 4 million euros were donated, but if the concert were canceled, the loss would reach around 11 million euros ," Ismaili said on Euronews Albania.

In conclusion, the minister underlined that the benefits of holding the concert are multiple, not only for the economy, but also for promoting the country's image. According to her, the cancellation of the concert would have direct consequences for Albania's reputation and would also negatively affect the tourism sector.
