Sentenced to 5 years in Italy, 51-year-old arrested in Tirana

Sentenced in Italy to 5 years, 11 months and 14 days in prison for drug trafficking and aggravated theft, the 51-year-old is arrested and handcuffed for extradition purposes.

The services of the Special Operations Force Directorate at the General Directorate of the State Police, in continuation of the work to locate and capture internationally wanted persons, based also on information obtained operationally on the location of a convicted citizen in Italy, organized and finalized the 90th phase of the police operation codenamed "Operacionalja".

Within the framework of this phase, it was possible to capture and arrest citizen Ylli Misku, 51 years old, resident of Tirana, in Tirana.

This citizen was declared internationally wanted by Interpol Rome, after the Bologna Court of Appeal, Italy, in July 2022, sentenced him to 5 years, 11 months and 14 days in prison for the criminal offenses of "Trafficking in narcotics", committed in collaboration, and "Theft under aggravating circumstances".

His arrest was carried out with the aim of extradition to Italy.
