This Thursday, the former director of the Cadastre in Durrës, Rajmonda Dashi , was arrested by order of the Special Prosecutor's Office (SPAK) .

SPAK accuses Dashi of the criminal offenses of " Cleaning the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity ", " Structured criminal group " and " Committing criminal offenses within a structured criminal group ".

According to SPAK, Dashi has helped two brothers, convicted by the Belgian justice authorities, in the laundering of money, for criminal offenses related to the trafficking of narcotics.

But how did the scheme work?

The two brothers cooperated with the former director and another person, and have carried out systematic, continuous illegal actions with the aim of laundering the income that they have benefited from carrying out criminal activity, through investment in real estate in Albania.

They have transferred assets with the purpose of concealing their illegal origin, have concealed, covered up ownership or rights related to assets, knowing that this asset is the product of a criminal offense or criminal activity, as well as through the acquisition of ownership, knowing at the moment of its delivery, that this asset is the product of a criminal offense or criminal activity.

For Dashi, the court has ordered house arrest.

Meanwhile, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime with decision no. 29, dated 23.10.2023, ordered the seizure of the following assets:

12 (twelve) apartments in the city of Fier;

4 (four) apartments in the city of Tirana;

3 (three) premises with garage function in the city of Tirana;

27 (twenty seven) bank accounts;

A trading company;

2 (two) vehicles;

The investigation continues for the identification of other persons involved in this criminal activity and the identification of other assets.
