41-year-old Ilir Çami, who stabbed his ex-partner, Manderina Çela, was recognized this Sunday with the security measure by the Korça court.

The court of Korça has left the 41-year-old man from Korça in prison.

The author of the incident, Ilir Çami, and the injured Manderina Çela were in a relationship together. They are currently separated and both are married to different partners.

The 41-year-old expressed regret for the violence caused to his ex-partner. He says that the conflict came because Manderina Çela had a debt of 5 million lek that he gave her at different times.

As Ilir Çami has said, this is also the reason for the conflict, since according to him, Çela does not return the money he took. Despite everything, he said that he is still in love with his ex-partner.

" After finishing my arrest, I left for Greece and after I came back, I resumed our relationship with Mandarina using phone conversations, then Mandarina wanted to break off our relationship, which I did not accept, and in a fit of rage I hit her with knife" , he said.

According to Manderina Çela's mother, Fatmira, the author continued to pursue the injured woman throughout this period.

" Put it inside and don't take it out again. The sick girl. The girl is married, has a husband and children. They had a conversation earlier. He was in prison, but he was released. My daughter was going to the hospital, she was sick. There was a man who was going to kill her. The girl was afraid to go to Korça because he was following her. She has 3 children, her husband is in Greece, he was bothering her. The girl would die if others did not help her. He followed her back. Yesterday she went to the hospital, he followed her. She had told him to run away because I will call the police, he did not run away",  said the injured woman's mother.

How did the event happen?

A woman was injured with a knife near the area called Triangle in Korça on November 6, 2024. The author of the incident, Ilir Çami, was arrested by the police immediately after the crime. The conflict escalated until the stabbing of the woman. 30-year-old Manderina Çela is married and has 3 children, while 41-year-old Ilir Çami is also married, but has not given up on his girlfriend, who had an extramarital affair two years ago. Meanwhile, the 30-year-old woman has been provided with a protection order from the court all this time.
