The Council of Ministers approved the decision to reward 1 to 3 monthly salaries of personnel of the Armed Forces, State Police, Civil Protection and fire services, depending on the duration of their engagement in firefighting operations during the summer of 2025.

Government decision:

AWARDS TO PERSONNEL ENGAGED IN FIRE-FIGHTING OPERATIONS DURING 2025

In accordance with Article 100 of the Constitution, Articles 5 and 45 of Law No. 9936, dated 26.6.2008, “On the Management of the Budget System in the Republic of Albania”, as amended, and Article 14 of Law No. 115/2024, “On the Budget for 2025”, as amended, upon the proposal of the Minister of Defense, the Council of Ministers

DECIDED:

1. Awarding of bonuses to personnel, state employees, engaged in extinguishing fires during the summer of 2025.

2. Employees of:

a) The Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania;

b) National Civil Protection Agency;

c) State Police;

ç) General Directorate of Fire Protection and Rescue;

d) Fire Protection and Rescue Service in the municipality.

3. The employees specified in point 2 of this decision shall benefit from remuneration, according to the duration of their engagement, as follows:

a) For engagements lasting from 1 (one) to 7 (seven) days, a reward of 1 (one) monthly salary is given;

b) For engagements lasting from 8 (eight) to 15 (fifteen) days, a reward of 2 (two) monthly salaries is given;

c) For engagements lasting 16 (sixteen) days or more, a reward of 3 (three) monthly salaries is given.

4. The remuneration is calculated on the basis of the gross monthly salary of the employee engaged in firefighting operations.

5. The financial effect for the structures defined in letters "a", "b" and "c", of point 2, of this decision, is borne by the reserve fund of the state budget, approved for 2025.

6. In the budget of the Ministry of Defense, in current expenditures, a fund of 193,140,098 (one hundred and ninety-three million, one hundred and forty thousand, ninety-eight) lek is added, respectively 145,809,950 (one hundred and forty-five million, eight hundred and nine thousand, nine hundred and fifty) lek in the budget program “Combat Forces”, 43,408,127 (forty-three million, four hundred and eight thousand, one hundred and twenty-seven) lek in the budget program “Combat Support” and 3,922,021 (three million, nine hundred and twenty-two thousand, twenty-one) lek in the budget program “Civil Emergencies”.

7. In the budget of the Ministry of Interior, in current expenditures, a fund of 69,615,100 (sixty-nine million, six hundred and fifteen thousand one hundred) lek is added to the budget program "State Police".

8. The financial effect for the structure defined in letter "ç", point 2, of this decision, is covered by the approved budget for 2025 for the Ministry of Interior.

9. The financial effect for the structures defined in letter “d”, point 2, of this decision, is borne by the respective budgets of the local self-government units.

10. The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior and local self-government units are responsible for the implementation of this decision.

This decision enters into force immediately and is published in the "Official Gazette".
