The funeral ceremony of the Archbishop of the Orthodox Church of Albania, Anastas Janullatos, will take place on Thursday, January 30, in Albania.
His body will arrive in our country on Tuesday. The Archbishop was hospitalized in Athens due to his serious health condition, but passed away on Saturday morning at the age of 95.
Janullatos' body will be laid to rest in our country, as this was his will.
Since 1992, he has lived in Albania, where he has led the Orthodox Church, and has always expressed the desire for his body to rest in our country.
The location where Archbishop Anastasios' body will be placed has not yet been determined, but one of the possibilities being discussed is the Monastery of Saint Vlash in Durrës.
