Snowfall and frost on the roads have created serious problems in the Dibra region and especially on "Arbri Road".
The national highway has been blocked for hours and a queue of vehicles several kilometers long has also been created.
Movement is difficult and only possible with chains, as the vehicles slip.
The queue on both sides of the road has stretched up to 10 km.
Police appeal to drivers to use winter tires and chains and to drive within the permitted speed limits.
But even in other regions of the country, the situation on the roads is chaotic, due to floods, rain, snow, frost, and low temperatures and humidity on the roads, which are sources of accidents.
The police have issued an official announcement, which also provides advice for drivers.
According to the Police, in mountainous areas, drivers must be equipped with winter tires and anti-skid devices to avoid accidents.
"In mountainous areas, drivers should carry anti-skid devices and use winter tires."
"Police services are coordinating with road maintenance contracting firms in all areas where hail and snow are present, with the aim of timely clearing of roads ," the Police statement said.
The police advise citizens to respect road traffic rules, by moderating speed, avoiding wrong overtaking, using a mobile phone while driving, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Authorities call on drivers to follow the instructions of police services on the ground and, for any need or emergency, to contact 112.
