From Butrint to the Albanian Alps. The BBC's International Service has produced a series of programs on the country's cultural and historical tourism.
Under the title "Wonders of Albania", journalist Bettany Hughes travels to mountainous Albania to discover, as described on the BBC website, a country with epic cities and fortresses, archaeological sites and a diverse history and culture.
"Miracles of Albania" is a multi-series production of one of the biggest international televisions. In the first episode, journalist Bettany Hughes visits the ancient town of Butrint and meets rural communities in the spectacular Alps.
The program takes on special importance, since the author Bettany Hughes is quite well-known and has a long career as a historian and author of television programs dedicated to historical and cultural tourism.
The first episode of the "Miracles of Albania" cycle will be broadcast on BBC World Service on January 21. In total the BBC will broadcast four episodes.
The promotion of Albania on the BBC is the last, after several recommendation articles in the New York Times newspaper or the CondéNast magazine. The New York Times recently recommended the Vesoja Valley as a natural wonder that must be visited during 2023. The valley gained international fame as Europe's only wild river passes through it and the media campaign to declare Vjosa a national park.
