Albania is the country with the lowest disposable income in Europe.

The updated data has been published by Eurostat, where it is noted that the country has not made any progress in this direction, remaining at the same level as that calculated in the July report of last year.

According to statistics, the disposable income per capita expressed according to the purchasing power standard (PPS) is calculated at 4,385 PPS, this indicator is calculated on the income of families, stripping them of taxes and any other obligations and then dividing them with the number of family members.

The remaining amount of them also shows the value that remains for consumption and saving.

This indicator is almost 4 times lower than the average of the European Union countries. Meanwhile, what is noticed from the statistics, it results below even the countries of the region such as Serbia or North Macedonia which results over 6 thousand PPS.

And in fact, according to international organizations, Albania is among the first countries in Europe for the risk of poverty and social exclusion. The recently published Instat data on the standard of living show that more than 622,000 people live below the poverty line.

According to them, the number of people at risk of being poor increased by more than 1200 individuals compared to 2020./Tch
